You can create art with text-to-image, meaning that you can write words in Midjourney and it will generate amazing images in seconds.
Creating Consistent Characters in Midjourney
Creating consistent characters in AI art can be a challenge because AI art generators often rely on randomization to create unique designs. While this can be beneficial in creating unexpected and exciting designs, it can also make it difficult to create consistent character designs. However, despite these challenges, it is possible to create consistent characters in AI art.
The Wicked + The Divine in Hypercore Style
For this test, I used the prompt "Create a unique photorealistic illustration of The Wicked + The Divine in Hypercore style." Hypercore is a vibrant and edgy style that features bold colors, sharp lines, and abstract shapes. The Wicked + The Divine is a comic book series that follows a group of gods who are reincarnated every ninety years.
When I first saw the results of the prompt, I was immediately drawn to the vibrant colors and unique, edgy, style. As I started to explore Midjourney and experiment with the prompt, I was blown away by the number of different characters it was able to generate. Each one was different and unique, with a variety of color schemes and designs. The amount of data training that must have gone into the system to generate such a diverse range of characters makes it a good style source to create unique combinations.

Sometimes, Midjourney generate random text, so you will need to remove it or re-run the prompt.
And again, simply re-running the prompt and changing the aspect ratio ( --ar 16:9 --ar 9:16)
Look at how many cool characters I could generate just by simply copy-pasting a prompt on Midjourney!
As I was creating images I learnt, thanks to Jasper AI, that The Wicked + The Divine is a comic book series created by Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie.
The series was first published by Image Comics in 2014 and has since become a cult classic among comic book fans.
The story follows a group of twelve gods who are reincarnated every ninety years. These gods are based on real-world deities from various cultures, including Greek, Japanese, and Egyptian. Each time they are reincarnated, they only have two years to live, during which time they are adored by their followers and given immense power.
The story is full of action, drama, and intrigue as the gods navigate the challenges of their short lives and the conflicts that arise between them. The series also explores themes of power, celebrity, and the nature of divinity
Hypercore style is often associated with futuristic and edgy designs, and it's a popular choice for creating art pieces that stand out.
The comic book's artists, Jamie McKelvie and Matthew Wilson, have been praised for their unique approach to character design and storytelling. The use of bright, bold colors and dramatic poses adds to the overall sense of excitement and energy that the series is known for.
Creating Consistent Characters in Midjourney
Ok, now it's time to talk about consistent characters. How do you create consistent characters in Midjourney? There are many ways, today we will have a look at one. SAVE & UPLOAD IMAGE
Follow these steps:
1. Choose a picture.
2. Open it in a new tab
3. Copy the URL
4. Paste the picture in Midjourney
5. Tweak the prompt.
In this example I added "driving a car" at the end

The first result was not amazing, so I typed:

And the result was pretty impressive!
Definitely I can use it in some of my scenes. Note that I uploaded a picture of a girl with hair on fire, which make also suggest Midjourney that I always want fire in the picture.
So, this picture was not ideal as a starting picture, I needed something more simple, yet cool and unique for my badass character!
I tried with another character in the same style. I tried to see if I could find more consistency in the characters by adding ethnicity and see what came up.

There is not a lot of consistency, but these are all pretty cool!
The first on the bottom left is my absolute favorite! He would look amazing in a novel, a story, a comic, illustrations, and much more!
Here it is.
I went to Jasper AI to quickly generate a background for the character. Because I like to know who I am dealing with. I will use AI to write the story more in depth later. This is what I got after a few minutes of interacting with AI and describing my character!
In "Runway," we follow the story of James, a former male model turned secret agent who's been recruited by a top-secret government agency to stop a dangerous terrorist plot. As James dives deeper into the case, he discovers that the terrorists are planning to launch a devastating attack on a major fashion event, using a deadly virus that could kill millions. With time running out and the stakes higher than ever, James races against the clock to uncover the identity of the mastermind behind the plot and stop the attack before it's too late..
Not bad, James!
So I repeated the same process as before. I open the picture in a new tab, I copy-paste the picture URL and I write "driving a car" at the end
The results were awesome!
Not perfect, not all at the first attempt, but very cool and usable in a story!

Now, I changed the prompt to put the character in other scenes.
Every time I had to upload the original picture.
I could also train Midjourney on a set of pictures, but let's keep it for another time.

We got the color back, by adding the original prompt to the picture, but the character looks slightly different, and he's not driving a car.
I run it again, same as above. ow I have 4 pictures of a character that all pretty much look-alike. Still different from James, though.

One of the ways to create consistent characters in Midjourney is uploading a picture of your character and tweaking the prompt. You can change the aspect ratio (add --16:9 or --ar 9:16 or other aspect ratio). You can also add an action that you wan your character to do or a setting, stating man/woman/boy/girl and even adding the same words of the original prompt to your prompt.
