That's kind of it! You don't need that much. Just try to open one coloring book on Amazon and you will see it for yourself. There is literally nothing you cannot do with AI and / or a $50-$100 invested in a freelancer, for a coloring book that can potentially sell every month over and over!

1. Amazon DS Quick View: it will show you the BSR (Best Seller Rank on Amazon) in the main page. Do you see that little text with number + "in books". This is the BSR, which is an indicator that says in what place of the chart the book currently is and Amazon DS Quickview allows you to see it for FREE. The lower the BSR, the better. If your competitor have BSR below 100,000 it means they are selling very well!
2. Helium 10: you can use Helium 10 to show the sales chart of a book, to see how the sales went and understand if it's a really good book to study or just a fad. This book is selling very well! Helium 10 is an absolute spaceship, full of incredible functionalities to scrape Amazon! But you don't need the paid version to check out competitors' books! Get Helium 10 for FREE and then install the Chrome Extension.
2. Publisher Rocket: to find all the related keywords to your target coloring books. this will help you create title, subtitle, decide the 7 keywords for KDP and get keywords for Amazon Advertising. Get Publisher Rocket.
You can also find the keywords with Google Keyword Planner and other Amazon Specific tools to scrape Amazon and find keywords.

You have to have a look at
The book price: so you can understand how much people in the niche are paying for a similar book (You click on the book page, or just hover over the book with DS quick view).
The number of pages: so you can understand the print cost and the royalty
3. Your Royalty. Which is Price - Printing Cost (which depends on the number of pages)
➡️ Low Pages > High Royalty
➡️ High Price > High Royalty
and viceversa, it's a formula.
To calculate the royalty, drop those numbers in this Amazon Royalty Calculator, to understand how much they are making.
Once you know that, you know already your approximate price and average page number.
